1960's

1960's
Jani-King was launched in Oklahoma, USA in 1968. In those early days, our founder services hard-won contracts at night and spent all day working to build the business, one new contract at a time. Within the year Jani-King as we know it now was born and has gone from strength to strength ever since.
1970's

1970's
It didn’t take long for the idea of franchising to take hold and during the early part of the 70’s the business expanded to develop a solid, reliable structure from which to start launching franchise businesses across the States. By 1976, the company had grown so much that it needed new premises from which to operate and Jani-King HQ was relocated to Dallas, Texas.
1980's

1980's
The 1980’s was Jani-King’s first taste of international success. Consistently steady growth in the 60’s and 70’s meant that the business was ready to go global and in 1986 proudly launched the very first international Master Franchise in Canada. Within the year Jani-King was also hailed as the #1 Commercial Cleaning Franchisor for the first time, by Entrepreneur magazine. This first ranking saw the start of an impressive track record with Jani-King achieving the same honour 19 times in the last 20 years.

The 1990’s was a period of consolidation and significant global expansion for Jani-King. During this decade we saw the 5,000th Jani-King franchise sold and expanded into 14 new countries including the UK, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, France, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, and Turkey. The success of the business was recognised when Entrepreneur magazine ranked Jani-King the No. 1 Maintenance Franchise and the No. 1 International Franchise in its Top 200 list in 1998.

The pace of growth was not slowed by the new Millennium. The noughties saw Jani-King add new US and international regions and consolidating the company’s position by developing prestigious partnerships with a number of global brands. This unprecedented growth enabled Jani-King to expand their services into a range of new industries and business types, developing cleaning programmes and specialisms tailored to each and every requirement.
